In Timbuktu, Mali, crowds gathered in Djinguereber mosque, Timbuktu's greatest mosque, to celebrate the Muslim Mawlid, the birth of Prophet Muhammed. They were to use another route because of the renovation. They were circling their mosque three times when an old lady falls down and this caused the death of 16 women and children and more than 40 injuries.
